The Trinity & Design District Association is comprised of all of the Businesses and Merchants, Landlords and Tenants, Owners and Occupants who work in The Trinity Industrial District and The Dallas Design District, bounded by Stemmons Freeway, Continental Ave., The Trinity River Levee (east bank) and Inwood Rd., all in the shadow of Downtown, The West End and The American Airlines Center.

 N. Industrial Blvd. Name change:  It is the position of the Association and its membership that  the Boulevard be named RIVERFRONT BLVD. because

1. The owners of Property along and adjacent to this main thoroughfare have the most influence over the name to be chosen if for no other reason than they    make up the TAX BASE that is the Economic Engine of the City's tax revenues for this area.

2. Any business which pays taxes to the City and abuts or adjoins the Boulevard should have a say in the re-naming.

3. The members of this Economic Community have virtually re-invented themselves and therefore have earned the right to have a major "say" in the re-naming of Industrial Blvd.  Be they Tenants, Owner-Occupants or pure Landlords, they have been the groups which have invested much time and a lot of money in the re-development of the Old trinity industrial District. They took the RISK, they should have a voice and be heard.

4. We are only half way there though. We still want and need to support the Trinity lake front Project. All we are asking is to follow through with a name change that reflects both our support for the Trinity Lake Project and the evolution of this once industrial neighborhood into a retail, research and residential neighborhood.

Purpose The purpose of the Trinity Association is to disseminate information among its members, provide guidance and leadership with respect to the District's goals and to represent The Trinity Industrial District and The Design District and their environs to the City of Dallas, The County and other governing bodies whose decisions affect our future.

Goals The orderly pursuit of the Trinity Lake Front "Preferred Plan" which will not only create Town Lake but also include the NTTA's plan for the single side six lane riverside Toll Way System inside the levee on the east bank.

A modern Crime Watch System for both Old Trinity (Continental Ave. to Wycliff) and New Trinity (Wycliff Ave. to Inwood Rd.) A system which would link the various businesses and neighborhoods together via the Internet and E-Mail.

A forum from which to influence both the City of Dallas and the various other governing bodies who regulate our area. i.e. NTTA, DART, Corps of Engineers.

The Trinity Association wants to take its proper place among the other key groups in the Stemmons Corridor, the Stemmons Corridor Business Association (SCBA), The Hospital District, The Office Building District, The Markets (Apparel, Trade Mart, World Trade Center and Infomart), and The Hotel District.

To take an aggressive stance with regards to the proliferation of undesirable and nuisance businesses in the District, a concern for the visual appearance of the neighborhoods and a concern for the evolutionary growth of both Old and New Trinity.

Support for the new Planning & Zoning changes that will support (and not cripple) the evolution of the Old Trinity Industrial District into a mixed use area (MU-3) which will support both existing businesses and allow for the creation of better retail, restaurant and residential components.
